A Wembley weekend!
15th May 2017
This weekend I may as well have slept on Wembley turf.
As well as my live show on BT Sport on Saturday, I somehow managed to squeeze in TWO football matches at Wembley!
Saturday evening I was lucky enough to be treated to box tickets for the women’s F.A Cup final in which the formidable Manchester City ladies beat Birmingham 4-1. City are the dominant WSL team right now, and that F.A Cup trophy means they’re holding all 3 domestic titles at once – the first to do so since Arsenal ladies in 2011. Well done girls! And we all celebrated after with a few drinks as well, such a good night!
Then on Sunday, I woke up in my hotel room with the view of Wembley stadium right on my doorstep, ready for the National League play off final between Tranmere Rovers and Forest Green. My agent here at Red 24, Paul, is a die hard Tranmere fan, so he got a bunch of us along with him to support his super white army!
Unfortunately the opposition were the lucky team to be promoted to the Football League, but that didn’t dampen our spirits too much. Paul’s 90’s Tranmere top and matching socks were enough to keep us entertained all day and it was great to be there with him (and his lovely dad Ralph!) to enjoy the atmosphere.
The BT Sport National League team have done an incredible job broadcasting the league all season so it was great to have some drinks with the crew after to celebrate their telly success.
A hectic, but fun, football-filled Wembley weekend!
