Layla Anna-Lee was in Brazil this weekend as one of the reporters for the incredible sports event Wings For Life World Run 2016!

Presenting for Red Bull TV, Layla was backstage at the Brasilia location of the race, which sees athletes simultaneously compete worldwide against each other as they try and cover as much ground as possible on foot before being caught up by the Catcher Car – or in Layla’s own words: “like a global live version of Pacman“!

With an exclusive insight, Layla was able to get involved with the behind the scenes of the event, finding out about the arrangements and preparations that are carried out leading up to the start time.

There were a total of 34 countries taking part, all setting off at 11am (UTC), with athletes – depending on their location – running through both day and night within 12 different time zones in this remarkable and unique race.

At it’s heart, Wings For Life World Run defines itself with a single mission: to run for all of those who can’t. They donate 100% of the entry fees to spinal cord injury research.
