So how was the wedding?

“How was the wedding?”
It’s the opening line from everyone I see at the moment, who wasn’t actually there on the big day.
It’s a tricky one to answer, as I don’t want to start being all smug, you know?

Lines like “It was the best day of my life,” are clichéd and feel lazy, but at the same time, I don’t want to downplay it with a simple “Yeah, it was good thanks.” It seems inappropriate to start raving about my day to someone who knows me well enough to know that I got married, but doesn’t know me well enough to have actually received an invite.
So, instead, I have been saying “I’ll send you a video to show you.”

Now this has been getting a largely a bemused reaction as, to be honest, who wants to watch somebody else’s wedding video?! It’s 3 minutes of your life that you simply won’t get back, right? But ‘this’ wedding video is, well, a little different…
It says what I want to say without being too self-satisfied, and it certainly doesn’t under play the day either.

Best day of my life? I’ll try and be humble, and refrain from saying so outright, but look at my face in the final shot – You’ll see everything you want to know, right there.
