All you can eat utopia…

Jodie McMullen |

Well, until last weekend, I didn’t believe it was possible.

Imagine a dream restaurant, with a menu fit for a king and the power to order anything (hold up…wait a minute…did I just say anything?). Don’t I mean a partially covered buffet, with people coughing and handling the luke warm goods?

Hell no!! I mean…you can order ANYTHING on the menu however many times as many times as you like.

Fresh Thai, Malaysian and Japanese cuisine…coming out every 5 seconds, like a crazy montage on a film about feeders.

My three newly bloated mates and I, were in food heaven. We calculated at the end of the feeding frenzy, we had eaten 40 dishes between us. Nice work.

Funny that this should be the highlight of my week. Let’s delve into the vault, and see what else I’ve been up to.

I had an audition on Tuesday for a new TV series. They wanted an Aussie (check), someone in their 30′s (check), an extrovert (check) and lastly someone slim (ummmmmm…I will be, once I lose this pillow under my shirt).

It was all good though, I told them I’d be back in fighting shape after the birth in October.

My acting has taken a back seat of late, as I’ve focused on my true love of presenting.

A little blast from the past can be seen here. This vintage reel shows excerpts from my two feature films ‘Jack of Diamonds’ (where I replaced Patsy Kensit) and ‘Requiem’ (starring alongside Jason Connery).

Anyhow, they’re not shooting until Jan – so I could be in with a fighting chance (if I avoid the ‘all you can eat’,'Thai Elephant 2′ in peace).

I also just dug up some clips, from my Presenting gig on The ‘Cannonball Run’ car rally, and from the ‘Celebrity Party Poker’. I’ll add them next blog.

Oh, I mentioned last time about wanting to go to a ‘Queens Jubilee’ street party. I now have a few up my sleeve, and can’t wait to hit the streets on June 5th.

Being an Aussie we love a good celebration, and that’s also one of the endearing things I find with the UK public. Their complete depression in the winter months, versus OTT enthusiasm once the sun shines is truly remarkable.

Speaking of partying, and you madcap Brits – I’m going to leave you with a cautionary/inspirational tale, for my fellow presenters. Courtesy of the SUN NEWSPAPER. Oh yes,the oracle of all that is good and true in this world.

Until next time…Hoorooooo!

Willy Watching.

Jodie McMullen |

Well, since 2.14pm yesterday, I have been scouring a small black and white miniature photograph for any signs of a willy.

No, no, no…I haven’t branched out into pornography (although Lord knows I’m tempted..ho ho ho) – I have simply been trying to decipher our 12 week scan from the hospital.

Oh yes, off-spring Numero 3 will grace us with his/her presence in a mere 6 months. Gosh, you take your eye off the ball for one second, and BAM!!!!CRASH!!POW!!! – one slips through the net; as it were!

Saying I’m ready for this is comparable to that poor lookout on the ‘Titanic’, who missed spotting the impending ice berg in time.

Anyhow, in preparation we have bought a 4 seater coupé (which will have to be sold before baby no 3 arrives)and signed a tenancy agreement on a Seaside Penthouse in an Art Deco building (7 floors up and lacking a lift).

Well, if you can’t act footloose and free whilst waiting to have your third child under 3 – when can you?

Anyhow, for now I’ll be trying to get as much work and life experience in before number 3 renders me housebound for another two years.

Ohhhh…I know…I make it all sound so glamorous!!!

On other matters, I’m doing my last shift at QVC’s ‘MARCO POLO’ house on May 11th before they relocate to Chiswick. Will be sad to see the last of that useless, yet spacious and strangely attractive old Art Deco building.

I hear they are knocking it down, and making it into flats. Guess they could check the skips and grab all the home furnishings they need.

Oh and we have the QUEENS JUBILEE coming up, and I’m on the lookout for a street party to crash. Please feel free to invite me to yours! Then, under 100 days until the Olympics. Hmmm…not really pumped about that one. I’m a bit of an ‘un-co’ and not very sport orientated. Still, a good atmosphere is bound to come out of it.

In the meantime, I have included the aforementioned scan. See if you can spot a willy (or the female ‘version’- come on…chicks don’t use that word). Answers on a postcard please!

Until next time…xx

Well hello…

Jodie McMullen |

Sorry for my vanishing act,it seems moving to the seaside has it’s benefits and draw backs. If I’d had the presence of mind (and more than 1.5 days to decide) to draw up a Pro’s and Con’s list it’d have looked like this-

PRO column:

  • Great for the ‘blonde mafia’ babies to run around, and to have sea air (and to get from under my feet)
  • Awesome to go to the beach every day (even if UK beaches don’t have proper sand)
  • Great family outings on the weekend
  • Local discotheque which has a proper 80′s DJ
  • Sea views
  • Friendly People who talk to you

On the CON’S, I’d have written:

  • No friends anywhere to be seen, within the ageing population of pension takers.
  • Being stuck in the middle of nowhere, when you have a last minute audition in London to get to.
  • No iphone genius bar to fix my iphone4s never ending problems!
  • The desire to eat Hot chips whenever passing the ‘Big mouth’ beach cafe
  • The local Hairdressers which declares proudly ” City styling without the Hassle”.What does that even mean?
  • Friendly people who talk to you

Anyhooo…we are only committed to 4 months here, so will have ample time for list writing when all that is done.

I have been busy this month working at QVC, on my Fashion show. I even get recognised in the street now (after 6 years). Hmmm might have something to do with the aforementioned pension population in these parts.

This month has also included several photographic shoots for me, and two for the lads.

On one occasion we drove 3 hours each way, so that Jagger could sit in a bathtub for TESCO for 1.5 mins. Ahhhhh showbiz!!!

Walking past our local Bingo hall on Monday (yes…they really have one) reminded me of my early foray into presenting, on the random and very funny game show on SKY TV called AVAGO BALLS!

Here is a tiny excerpt:

Anyhow, as I didn’t win at Bingo-I’m off to work (today I’m doing a corporate video for an Estate agency).Nice to have a day away from the babies!

Until next week!

What a Week!!

Jodie McMullen |

One stolen moped, two nocturnal babies, one massive birthday bash for my bestie and a Miss Universe reunion in full swing.

Hi guys…yes, this is London living. Non stop crime and partying. Would we have it any other way?

I literally didn’t even blink an eyelid as I discovered my moped stolen.

I guess you never really ever own anything in London. You are merely the custodian till the next hoodie claims it!

It was eventually recovered in the dark depths of a nearby council estate, but was literally a skeleton. Thanks lads – how on earth can I get to QVC for my guest presenting slot now? Will the world be amiss without my Artscapes wares?

I don’t need to mention the 4am wake up calls with my nocturnal twins. I bore myself just writing it. It’s just if I bite your head off when we next meet – I hope you’ll try and be a tad understanding!

On to the East London birthday bash of my matey ‘Jodes no 1′ (we take it in turns to the 1 and 2 title. It was her birthday so she got it this week). Anyhow, our mates amused themselves by enacting my ‘When Harry met Sally esque’ scene in ITV’s recent TV show HONEST:

This is me seducing Pink Panthers ‘Kato’ (aka Burt Kwok).

Just a side note – I was kissing his collar, not his ear. Come on!!

I’ll spare you the pool scene with the Gardner…but will give you a taster by saying this…

“My name is Hong Hong Hong Hongggggggggggggg….”whilst in ‘action’ if you get my drift.

Oh yes, much hilarity ensued by all at the dinner table, (at Pizza East) as they decided to bang their hands on the table, whilst screaming…Hong Hong..Honggggggggg!!!

On to my last event of the week…the Miss Universe gang!

A year or so ago I attempted to reunite my old Las Vegas Miss Universe buddies, for a tv pilot called ‘When Beauty Queens go bad’. Well…I have now been in touch with 46 of the Miss’s and look forward to filming the sequel to:

It’s had 84,000 hits and has upset a few Venezuelans.

Anyhooo…that was the week that was.

I’ll catch you next week. Brrrrrr…remember it’s cold at 4am, so hold off having babies till you’ve given up on sleeping/having fun.

Jodes xx
